Quote or Ethos you live by:
Eleanor Roosevelt was a woman way ahead of her time. Two of her quotes are my personal favourites: "It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness" and "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent".
Who's inspired you?:
My mum who never gives herself the credit she deserves. It drives me nuts but it has taught me that humility and self-advocacy are equally important values.
My kids because they remind me that it's not about me at all. I'm just holding the baton, carrying it forward a bit, and trying not to drop it before the next generation can pick it up.
The women who continue to fight the good fight with grace, intelligence and humour.
What sums up inspiration for you?:
A person, a cause or a project that makes you want to be just a better manager, friend, daughter, sister, mother, wife, person. Something or someone that forces you to reassess what you are doing, perhaps change course a little (or a lot) and maybe do the thing that you are afraid to do.
Experiences I can share:
With age comes wisdom! I spent my 20's obsessing about my career, my 30's trying to balance kids and career. At 40, I haven't figured things out but I've got perspective and a bit more peace. I've worked full-time, part-time, no-time. I've left work and returned to work without too many scars to show for it. I've changed career paths at least three times, jumping to dramatically different industries and survived the transition each time. I
