I was invited as a STEM ambassador to Valentine's High School in Ilford on the 7 March to carry out an activity focussing on the business side of STEM subjects.
The school asked me to present a business problem to a group of year 9 students where 80% of the students were girls. The students were divided into three groups and asked to consider the problem over three weeks and present their solutions to the class on 28 March.
The aim of the project was to emphasis the interaction of STEM subjects within the priorities of the business world – i.e., to show the issues that STEM professionals consider over the course of a normal working day.
This was a brilliant and enjoyable experience for both me and the group.
The students presented their work and demonstrated their ability to work as a team but also research to identify technology toolsoin the market that help businesses improve the way they communicate. This was an enjoyable experience for all.
